Warn’s (Wayne’s) World (known as Wayne’s World) is a rated 6 trail (for trail rating details, click here) that explores through the less-explored parts of Sand Mountain. The trail commences at the Red Gate, adjacent to the Green Gate, promising off-road enthusiasts a unique journey through Sand Mountain's hidden gems. There are by-passes for obstacles if you choose!
Scenery
Spectacular views of the Pine Valley Mountains, Zion National Park, Sand Hollow Reservoir and the Hurricane Cliffs.
Surface
Sand dunes, steep slickrock, off camber sections, washes and ledges.
Trail Details
There are many obstacles on the trail. Many have names such as an obstacle called Wild Thing, a 10-foot dry waterfall that will get your attention. Another obstacle, Stairway to Heaven, is a quick series of four steep climbs on sandstone with ledges that will test your ability to see the line and use your lockers. Then, a slightly off-camber ledge that is called Staying Alive before three more steps and on to a short, slightly off-camber climb on slickrock properly named Gotta Have Faith. About then it’s time for a lunch break where you can try the optional 35-foot high sandstone outcropping called “The Terminator”. After lunch you continue through more sandstone descents and climbs and head over to an area near Double Sammy where you will squeeze through a sandstone fin area called We Will Rock You and then to an off-camber sand chute named Don’t Stop me Now. The last named obstacle is a steep one-way decent in the sand dunes…. End Of The Line. All of this along with stunning panoramic views. This trail is a good introduction on what to expect on a 6 rated trail with nothing extreme but a real confidence builder preparing you for higher rated trails
